KOBOKO. Grade one magistrate court of Koboko has sentenced a driver of Koboko district local government, Mr Juma Kepo to a three years imprisonment after he was found guilty for the loss of a new district Motorcycle.

Court presided over by grade one magistrate of Koboko Mr Peter Guchina sentenced Kepo to the jail term after him pleading guilty to the offence.

But his co-accused brother, Mr Mahadi Data, a bodaboda operator in Koboko town who is said to have engineered the stealing was remanded at Gbukutu government prison as he denied the charge, he will re-appear in court today for the mention of his case.

The Yamaha motorcycle registration number UG 6223A is one of the six motorcycles given to Koboko district by the Central government three weeks ago.

Kepo was entrusted by the district to transport the six motorcycles from Kampala after they were flagged off by President Yoweri Museveni.

But the district official became suspicious when he delivered fewer motorcycles than what he loaded in Kampala.

The motorcycles are to be distributed to extension officers at the sub-county level.
