PAKWACH. Police in Pakwach district has arrested seven suspects and recovered a gun in Panyango sub county following a recent spate of murders in the area.

Mr Frank Muzoora, the district police commander said the suspects includes three men and four women all residents of Okuma village in Wadelai Sub County.

He revealed that the suspects were arrested after tip off by the locals following a recent attempt on Ms Justine Akello, a prominent spiritual leader and a resident of Panyango Sub County in Lobodegi village.

The DPC said after interrogation, the suspects revealed the hidden places where the gun and the seven rounds of ammunition were being hidden in Pakwinyu village, Wadelai Sub County.

He said the suspects will help the police to ascertain the motives and the prime killers of the recently killing in Pakwach sub county where a sixty year old Kenwell Javuru was gunned down before his family while having dinner and one, only identified as Ajok, a resident of Pokwero, was shot under unclear circumstances.

Police say the suspects are expected to be produced in court and charged with various counts of capital charges after the completion of investigations.

Mr James Mukose, the resident district commissioner, who is the head of security in the district, appealed to the public to be vigilant about their security and report suspicious characters to security agencies.

He said the discovery of the gun should instill confident in the public about the Security situation in the district.
