SPORTS. Paidha Black Angel (PBA) Soccer Club on Sunday gave its fans another taste of the Star time's FUFA big league after beating Bukedea Town Council Soccer Club 1 goal to nothing.
The goal scored by Francis Bithum aka Raster in the 44th minute of the first half gave PBA a lead and also rekindled the fans' hope of making return to the Uganda Premier League after the nostalgic relegation.
The win against Bukedea Town Council SC comes just three days after PBA walloped Kataka SC from Mbale 2 goals to 1 at the same intimidating Barokoro stadium.
Euphoria filled the stadium as soon as the last weasel went after full time.
A section of fans under their stage name 'the Parliament', handed over a goat to the players in appreciation to the win as other fans collected money and other items to help the community club that entirely depends on the fans' financial support and gate collection.
Mr John Onegi, a fan said they were excited because some of them were sceptical of the players' ability to display the skills they did to win the two home games.
"We cannot hide our excitement because some of us had a lot of doubt in the players but they surprised us", he said.
Mr. Kakanga Kiwanuka, the PBA SC assistant head coach said the team is determined to take on game by game to widen the winning margin.
"We shall go game by game as I told you before and the victory will be ours because our ultimate goal is to get back to the Uganda Premier league", he said.
Kiwanuka commended the fans for their unwaveringly supporting their team and giving all kinds of support to push the club forward.
He said the big attendance gives the home team an edge over their rivals who get intimidated on seeing the big crowd.
The next PBA match is scheduled for 24th October 2019 against Light SS in Amuria high grounds, Amuria district.
